Deputy Lord Mayoral candidate Liz Ge has been a resident of the Melbourne over the past two decades and has vast experience in the financial services and superannuation industries. Ms. Ge has a real enthusiasm for the City of Melbourne and is keen to return the level of activity and vibrancy in the city to pre-pandemic levels.

No. 1 Councillor candidate Rafael Camillo has been volunteering within the City of Melbourne for over a decade and recently celebrated 10 years with Residents 3000 – including six years as President.

No. 2 Councillor candidate William Caldwell is a long-term Docklands resident with a passion for real estate and wants to see Melbourne return to the top again.

Key Policy Areas

  1. Safety: Community safety with zero tolerance for drug dealing, street gangs and vandalism. Team Morgan will work together with the State Government and police to ensure Protective Safety Officers (PSOs) are patrolling near Queen Victoria Market and the top end of Bourke St near Parliament House and all 13 train stations in the City of Melbourne as well as in parks and streets around the train stations. As part of this key policy Team Morgan will ensure all police patrols operate on a 24/7 basis.
  2. Homelessness: A partnership with the Federal and State Governments to cater for and provide long term solutions to drive ‘zero homelessness’ in the City of Melbourne.
  3. Support residents, small businesses and their communities with regular ‘listening post’ meetings.
  4. Revival of the CBD and lower council taxes: To make Melbourne the ‘most liveable’ city in the world again Melbourne needs more events and greater partnering with the private sector, as well as more workers back in the Melbourne CBD and lower council charges to help small businesses and art initiatives.
  5. Bigger Melbourne which will result in significant cost efficiencies: Bringing together Inner Melbourne by including the City of Port Phillip and City of Yarra within an expanded City of Melbourne. This reform will unite the north bank of the Yarra River and bring together the Melbourne CBD, Albert Park sporting precinct, the Melbourne foreshore, port facilities and the inner Melbourne suburbs of Port Melbourne and South Melbourne. Uniting these areas within one governance structure will result in significant cost efficiencies and drive effective solutions for all Inner Melbourne residents.

Margin of Error

The margin of error to be allowed for in any estimate depends mainly on the number of interviews on which it is based. Margin of error gives indications of the likely range within which estimates would be 95% likely to fall, expressed as the number of percentage points above or below the actual estimate. Allowance for design effects (such as stratification and weighting) should be made as appropriate.
